PQHBG Sale & Futurity
We would like to make everyone aware of exciting developments in the horse industry in Saskatchewan. The Prairieland Quarter Horse Breeders Group are planning a Select Performance Horse Sale, Stallion Avenue & Parade and Future Futurity which will be held at noon, Saturday, April 24th, 2010 at Saskatoon Prairieland Park. This sale will feature select performance horses and prospects eligible for futurity classes for the lifetime of the horse.
The 1st Annual Select Horse Sale will be held at noon, Saturday, April 24th, 2010. A preview, offering cattle, will commence at 9:00 am. Along with this sale we are offering exciting futurity classes, allowing new buyers to compete in 2011 and continue competing each successive year for the lifetime of the purchased horse. Only horses purchased at the annual sales will be eligible to compete in Futurity Classes in the following years. These futurity classes are designed to offer competition for all family members and all levels of training. There will be guaranteed purses for all divisions of horses, as well as a Ranch Horse Competition. Futurity rules and regulations will be printed in the sale catalogue, as well as online at www.saskatoonex.com
In conjunction with the select horse sale a 1st Annual Horseback Cowdog Trial will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 23rd, 2010. This will be a Saskatchewan Stock Dog Association sanctioned event with two runs per dog. The Handler must work his/her dog from horseback. The Top Five will advance to the finals, which will run at 7:00 pm, Friday evening.
It is Prairieland Park’s goal to develop a family weekend of ranch related activities around the Sale and Futurity each year. This will make Saskatoon Prairieland Park a destination for Horse Enthusiasts in Western Canada.
